Then the Politician cruelly cuts the other off and the Victim makes the other feel like the victim, two teenagers on the stage again, one cruel and cool, one defensive.
The Politician Because of the fear of being hurt by the other, the wound of ‘I reject you first’ is locked in place.
The Victim Because of the fear of not satisfying others’ high expectations from us, the wound of maintaining the story of defensive paranoid guilting is locked in place.
So the Politician rejects before it can be rejected and the Victim is trapped in the web of its own mind; one stays fake, the other self-pitying, and neither one heals.
